Low Cost Moulage and Simulated Tissue Designs

The workshop will define moulage and discuss a variety of moulage utilisation in healthcare simulation. There will also be hands-on demonstrations on how to apply simulation moulage properly and effectively on a limited budget. Each participant will be given a sample moulage kit form that will include a list of inexpensive, everyday supplies such as glue, food colouring, petroleum jelly, and powder etc. and gain opportunity to use their kit to simulate injuries, wounds, disease symptoms, bodily fluids and scene settings etc.

Learning Outcomes:
  1. Define moulage and how moulage is used in simulation
  2. Demonstrate moulage using inexpensive, everyday products
  3. Incorporate a hands-on opportunity to moulage a product using a sample moulage kit
