Date: 20 Oct 2022, Thu | Time: 1500 - 1630 | Track Type: Workshop
Format: Face-to-face | Venue: Whitespace, Level 2, Academia
Category: Technology & Innovation | Workshop Level: Intermediate

Speaker: Dr Scott Crawford

This workshop will review current methods for training and supporting ultrasound education. It will describe existing simulation phantoms and required features for training ultrasound skills, including virtual reality and haptic type feedback devices. The workshop will focus on the actual creation of task trainers to create foreign body, vein cannulation, and gynaecologic examinations.

Learning Outcomes:
  1. Describe required features of ultrasoundable simulation models
  2. Review existing ultrasound technologies and how they relate to clinical application
  3. Create usable ultrasound task trainers and adaptable techniques for future application
