Assoc Prof Sanjeewa Kularatna

Assoc Prof Kularatna, an associate professor at the HSSR research programme of Duke-NUS, brings with him extensive experience as a health economist, having conducted research for over 10 years in Australia before joining Duke-NUS. His primary area of expertise is assessing the health-related quality of life in specific disease conditions, particularly focusing on heart disease. He is a fellow of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand, and has dedicated significant efforts to developing preference-based measures specific to heart conditions. These measures enable more accurate and nuanced evaluations in health economics.

In addition to his research endeavours, Assoc Prof Kularatna has a substantial experience supervising PhD projects in health services research. He takes a keen interest in exploring patient preferences for novel healthcare interventions, employing innovative methods to gauge their acceptance and impact on health outcomes.
