Asst Prof Vivien Wu Xi

Assistant Professor, Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies,
Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Singapore


Asst Prof Vivien is an Assistant Professor at Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS). She is a member of the Healthy Longevity Translational Research Programme at NUS. Dr Vivien’s research is centred on chronic disease management for older adults and caregivers with technology, intergenerational programmes to promote healthy longevity in the community, professional development of the healthcare workforce; and nursing education. 

Asst Prof Vivien’s research work on ageing has gained international recognition. She was awarded the Interstellar Initiative by New York Academy of Sciences and Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development, and Asian University Alliance Scholars in 2020, Emerging Nurse Researcher/Scholar Award, Sigma Theta Tau International, Early Career Investigator Award, and Exemplary Community Partner Award in 2022. Asst Prof Vivien has published widely in high impact international refereed journals and book chapters. She has also served as editor and reviewer for International Nursing and Medical Journals. 

Asst Prof Vivien was also awarded several grants for her research work, such as the NUS Start Up Grant in 2019 on community-based e-health programme for older adults, Mind the Gap – Mental Health Fund in 2021 on community dance programme for older adults as well as the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science and NUS Joint Research Grant in 2022, to establish healthy longevity programmes using exercise memory through aerobic and resistant exercise intervention in middle-age and older adults with Type 2 Diabetes.
