Assoc Prof Zhong Liang is Associate Professor at National Heart Centre Singapore and Duke National University of Singapore. He is heading Cardiovascular Engineering and Technologies Theme and co-director of Cardiovascular System Imaging and Artificial Intelligence Lab. His research focuses on cardiovascular imaging, computational modeling, cardiovascular mechanics and physiology, and application of artificial intelligence in medicine. He has developed methods 1) for quantification of heart shape, blood flow, and function using MRI feature tracking and 4D flow MRI; and 2) for evaluation of coronary calcium score, epicardial adipose tissue, stenosis, plaque characteristics and fractional flow reserve (FFR) using CT and AI.  

He has published over 180 peer-reviewed papers, 20 book chapters, 1 book “Computational and mathematical methods in cardiovascular physiology” and filed 10 patents. A/Prof. Zhong is a recipient of the Young Investigator Award of the Singapore Cardiac Society (2011 & 2012), Young Investigator Award of the ASEAN Federation of Cardiology (2012), Sejong Medical Award from Asia-Pacific Pediatric Cardiac Society (2012), SingHealth Publish Award (2013), “Huanghe Bei” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Award (2015), and GCEO excellent research award (2021).
