Prof Simon Collingwood Kitto

Head of Medical Humanities, Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore


Dr Kitto is a medical sociologist who has been working in health professions education research since 2002. 

He is a Visiting Fellow (Head of Medical Humanities) at LKC Medicine; Professor at the University of Ottawa’s Department of Innovation in Medical Education, and Department of Surgery, and the Director of Research in the Office of Continuing Professional Development, Faculty of Medicine, University of Ottawa; Assistant Professor, Department of Surgery, Invited Member, The Wilson Centre, Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto; and an adjunct Senior Lecturer, Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, Monash University, Australia. 

He has held Visiting Fellow positions in the Medical Case Centre, Karolinska Institutet, Sweden and in the Centre for Interprofessional education and Practice, UCSF, USA. He is the current Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Continuing Education in the Health Professions and a senior international editor – Journal of Interprofessional Care. 

Dr Kitto’s research interests are focused on continuing professional development and interprofessional teamwork in healthcare settings.
