Dr Bong Choon Looi KK Women's and Children's Hospital Senior Consultant, Paediatric Anaesthesia
Dr Bong joined the Khoo Scholars Program in 2012 and IDP program in 2015. She is mentored by Prof Koh Woon Puay and receives statistical help from Dr John Allen. She has been awarded the SingHealth Foundation grant (SHF) and Khoo Mentored Research Award (KMRA) for her study on Impact of Exposure to General Anaesthesia during Infancy on Neurocognitive Development (EGAIN): a Prospective Cohort Study. This study was featured on a Straits Times article dated 06 Oct 2015 and highlighted in the Duke-NUS Governing Board Management Report. |
A/Prof Hairil Rizal Abdullah Singapore General Hospital Director, Perioperative Services Senior Consultant, Department of Anaesthesiology Dr Hairil joined both the IDP program and Khoo Scholars Program in 2016. He is currently mentored by Prof Ecosse Lamoureux from Clinical Health Services and Implementation Research Core (CHIC). He was awarded the SingHealth Foundation grant (SHF) in 2015. He was awarded NMRC NIG application for a study titled “Preoperative anemia among the elderly undergoing major surgery: Impact on healthcare outcomes” and is currently conducting a clinical trial on the use of intravenous iron for the treatment of preoperative anemia. Dr Hairil is also a recipient of the NMRC Clinician Scientist/Clinician Investigator Salary Support Programme. |
