4th Singapore Wrist Arthroscopy Course

The 4th Singapore Wrist Arthroscopy Course was successfully held from 5th – 6th Jan 2019. The 2-day course consisted of half-day lecture and 1 ½ days of hands-on cadaveric workshop. The course was co-directed by Assoc Prof Andrew Chin Yuan Hui (Senior Consultant, Department of Hand & Reconstructive Micosurgery, Singapore General Hospital), Prof Jan Ragnar Haugstvedt (Senior Consultant, Department of Orthopaedics, Ostfold Hospital Trust, Moss, Norway) and Dr Andrea Atzei (Head of Hand Surgery Unit, Casa di Cura "Giovanni XXII", Monastier Treviso, Italy).

Participants were able to experience hands-on sessions using fresh cadaveric specimens, a series of expert talks and interactive discussions with the international faculty members.

There were 2 options for the participants to choose from; The Fundamentals of Wrist Arthroscopy Course & Mastering Wrist Arthroscopy Course.

The Fundamentals of Wrist Arthroscopy Course was a basic course targeted at beginners who have just been exposed or yet to be exposed to performing wrist arthroscopy. Participants were taught the core fundamentals and to perform diagnostic and simple therapeutic procedures.

Mastering Wrist Arthroscopy was an advanced course targeted at surgeons who have already performed wrist arthroscopy in their practice and would like to further refine and stretch their technical skills and abilities to achieve expert and master level competency in wrist arthroscopy.

Overall, the course was a success and the participants benefitted greatly from the expertise of the faculty and the visiting experts.
