Introduction to Bioinformatics : A Short Course 2018

Pathology ACP organised our first bioinformatics course on 19-20 April 2018 at SGH Academia. The 1.5-day introductory course provided participants with an overview and a practical experience on database searching, DNA and protein sequencing alignment and the analytical tools available for sequence homology searching, multiple sequence alignments and sequence motif analysis.

Dr Cheng Chee Leong (Director, Computational and Digital Pathology, Pathology ACP) and the BioIT team from SGH Translational Pathology Centre and Polaris@SingHealth conducted the course. The course comprised engaging lectures and discussions. The ‘find-a-gene’ group project provided participants with hands-on experience on bioinformatics analytical tools.
