Bioinformatics Course: Next Generation Sequencing
Pathology ACP concluded the fifth rendition of our popular Bioinformatics Course: Next Generation Sequencing on 13 and 14 April 2023. The course focused on the bioinformatics analysis of next generation sequencing (NGS) data, with emphasis on variant analysis. Apart from didactic lectures, participants were also provided with hands-on experience using open source tools on NGS data. Our appreciation extends to our dedicated faculty who have contributed to the success of all the Bioinformatics Courses organised by Pathology ACP since 2016.
Engaged minds, absorbing knowledge: Participants listened attentively during Dr Karrie Ko’s (Consultant, SGH Dept of Microbiology)
lecture on “Introduction to Microbial Genetics and Metagenomics”.
Active participation and guidance: Course faculty Dr Cheng CL (Head and Senior Consultant, SGH Dept of Anatomical Pathology),
Dr Jeremy Ng (Bioinformatician, SGH Dept of Molecular Pathology) and Dr Pauline Ng (Bioinformatics Consultant)
guiding the participants during one of the practical sessions.
