Our 4th Research Day was held on Monday, 16 October 2017. It was a day where residents, trainees, medical students/undergraduates and our allied health professionals showcased their research findings locally to colleagues in the pathology community through posters and platform presentations at The Academia, SGH. A record number of 47 abstracts were submitted this year!
We were privileged to have A/Prof Alvin Lim (Singapore General Hospital), A/Prof Matthias Maiwald (KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital), and Dr Wang Lai Mun (Changi General Hospital) as our esteemed judges.
We were honoured to have Professor Jonathan Epstein, Director of Surgical Pathology of the Department of Pathology, The John Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, USA, deliver the keynote lecture. His keynote lecture titled: “How to be a successful pathologist – avoiding these traps?” resonated with the audience.
With participants presenting their research findings zealously, it was an opportunity for members of the pathology community to interact with one another, resulting in a truly memorable event!
