Our 5th Research Day was held on Friday, 5 October 2018. It was a day where residents, trainees, medical students/undergraduates and our allied health professionals showcased their research findings locally to colleagues in the pathology community through posters and platform presentations at Academia, SGH. A record number of 56 abstracts was submitted this year!
We were honoured to have Dr Ian A. Cree, Head, WHO Classification of Tumours, International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), World Health Organisation, Lyon, France, deliver the keynote lecture. His keynote lecture titled: “The role of liquid biopsy in early cancer detection – research or clinical practice?” was insightful and relevant.
We were privileged to have Dr Ian A. Cree, Dr Clement Ho (KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital), and Dr Loo Liat Hui (KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital) as our esteemed judges.
With participants presenting their research findings zealously, it was an opportunity for members of the pathology community to interact with one another, resulting in a truly memorable event!
