Our 7th Research Day was held on Tuesday, 6 October 2020. In view of the global COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s Research Day was conducted virtually via Zoom webinar. Despite the pandemic, a total of 49 abstracts were received, with diverse topics on the different pathology disciplines. Residents, trainees, medical students, undergraduates and allied health professionals showcased their research findings locally to colleagues in the pathology community through posters and platform presentations. The zeal and excitement for research from our pathology community remain unabated.
We were privileged to have Dr Lester D.R. Thompson, a Head and Neck Pathologist (Pathology Department, Woodland Hills Medical Center, California, USA) and WHO Standing Editorial Board Member, deliver the keynote lecture. His keynote lecture titled; “How much are you willing to pay for that consultation?” was insightful and relevant.
Prof Koh Tse Hsien (Singapore General Hospital), A/Prof Lai Siang Hui (Singapore General Hospital), A/Prof Shawn Je (Duke-NUS Medical School) and A/Prof Cuthbert Teo (Health Sciences Authority) kindly served as our judges for the poster and platform presentations.
With participants presenting their research findings enthusiastically, it was a valuable opportunity for members of the pathology community to share and learn from one another.
Our heartiest congratulations to the winners of the 7th Pathology ACP Research Day.
