A Celebration of Pathology!

Over two hundred guests stepped away from their busy schedules to join us as we celebrated our shared specialty at the International Pathology Day (IPD) on 15 November 2017 and commemorated the day by running two events: IPD 2017 and the 3rd Medical Students Outreach Day.

International Pathology Day 2017

All SingHealth Pathology Departments from Singapore General Hospital, KK Women's and Children's Hospital and Sengkang Health joined forces to bring greater awareness to pathology as a specialty. Exciting booths by the various laboratories and enlightening career talks made it a joyous and memorable event!

At the 3rd Medical Students Pathology Quiz organized by Pathology ACP, teams from NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Duke-NUS Medical School and NTU Lee Kong Chian Medical School battled it out for the Medical Students Pathology Quiz Challenge Shield under the watchful eyes of the Quiz-Masters, A/Prof Alwin Loh, Director of Pathology Residency Programme, Pathology ACP and Dr Jerry Nagaputra, Medical Officer, Department of Anatomical Pathology, SGH.

Dr Derrick Lian (Associate Programme Director, SingHealth Pathology Residency Programme), Dr Ho Liam Pock (Senior Consultant, SGH Department of Clinical Pathology) and Dr Ng Tong Yong (Director, Clinical Pathology Education) shared interesting insights on the life of a pathologist.

Staff from Pathology ACP were present to cheer on the medical students. The team from the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine emerged victorious. It was a fun-filled event with plenty of laughter and excitement.
