Welcome to Singapore's web infocenter on congenital heart diseases. Heart disease in children is not rare - it occurs in about 8 per 1,000 children and can range from very mild defects that are compatible with normal life, to severe, life threatening conditions.
This website is a patient/parent education effort by the Cardiology Service and Cardiothoracic Surgery Service of KK Women's & Children's Hospital. Through this website, we hope to provide simple, clear and concise information on the common types of heart defects, cardiology investigations and treatment options. We aim to help you understand more about your or your child's heart condition, however the information provided here should not be taken as medical advice and should in no way be use to affect or alter the treatment prescribed by your cardiologist.
