Lung cancer remains a leading cause of death in Asia, and the rest of the world. While classically linked to smoking, never smokers with lung cancer are a common phenotype in Asia. With up to 70% of lung cancer being detected late, the way to improve outcomes may be to better detect lung cancer earlier so as to improve likelihood of cure.  Low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) remains the only proven screening tool globally. The rationale for and the implementation of a LDCT screening program in Singapore will be covered. Emerging tools and biomarkers for screening will also be discussed.
