Tiered Approach to Developing Nursing Research using Six Sources

Date: 20 Sep 2025, Saturday | Time: 0900 - 1040 | Track Type: Symposium | Venue: L1-S3, Level 1, Academia

This symposium aims to address the critical need for fostering research engagement among nurses to advance evidence-based practice, promoting staff development, and improving patient care outcomes. Drawing on the Six Sources of Influence framework, the symposium will provide a comprehensive and structured approach to cultivating an active nursing research culture in a public hospital. The symposium aims to equip attendees with actionable strategies to leverage on the Six Sources of Influence framework, which encompasses personal, social, and structural motivators and enablers, to elicit vital behaviours and achieve intended outcomes. By addressing barriers and enabling facilitators at multiple levels, it seeks to empower nursing professionals and leaders to embed research as a core element of nursing practice.

During the session, the presenters will share a tiered Nursing Research Development framework, and the outcomes achieved since its implementation in 2022. Nurses who benefited from the implementation will showcase their projects and reflective learning to encourage more nurses to embark on the journey of inquiry for better patient care.
