The Emergency department is a live ground for a diverse range of clinical presentations. Time sensitive life dependent critical decisions are made every second. The Emergency setting is a highly charged environment as it is busy and patients present in an undifferentiated manner. Various emotions are experienced be it by the patient; their families and also our staff. Quick assessment and timely decisions are essential. This often requires a team based, an interdisciplinary and an interprofessional approach. Each scenario varies and knowing how to respond as a team requires acquisition of hard and soft skill, mastery; agility and consistency. The primary aim of this session is to present the foundations of IPCP and IPE. Raise awareness of the concept of Team Science. Share real life cases in our day-to-day practice and experiences from the lens of practitioners in the ED. There will also be deep-dive into IPE and its application within our Emergency Care Setting. At the end of the session we hope to provide an overview of what is IPCP and IPE , its relevance and importance in emergency clinical practice , how it looks like when incorporated in our training and translates in our emergency care practice.
