HYBRID Simulation

Simulation has offered an exciting array and spectrum of educational training tools and platforms. From the early days of using plastic molds and simple models, we have migrated to high fidelity manikins that can communicate and replicate some physiological functions, a variety of task trainers to practice complex technical skills and many more The technology simulation science continues to evolve.

 

One aspect of simulation that can still be potentially expanded and utilized even more is Hybrid Simulation (HS). HS utilizes at least 2 different simulation modalities, whereby combining them will enable one type of simulation modality to enhance the other, with the proper alignment, coordination and inter-facing. This can provide a rich, exciting and stimulating learning platform.
