This symposium brings together clinicians and educators from three SingHealth institutions namely, SingHealth Centre for Person-Centred Care (CPCC), SingHealth Community Hospitals Office of Learning (SCHOOL), and Changi General Hospital (CGH), to discuss innovative instructional strategies and approaches to incorporate person-centred care philosophy in healthcare education.   
Participants will acquire a deeper understanding of instructional design beyond the cognitive and psychomotor domains, and examine conceptual frameworks for affective domain development in healthcare education.  Facilitators and barriers to promote the design and delivery of affective educational design in person-centred care will also be discussed.

Learning Outcome(s):

By the end of the symposium, participants will be able to:

  • List the dimensions of affective programme development 
  • Identify the key considerations to integrate affective domains in instructional design
  • Describe the steps to design an affective educational programme
