This symposium is a consolidation of initiatives put together by various Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) and the Education Development Office (EDO) team from NUH over the last two years to support both students and clinical educators (CE). The ever-increasing student placement demands, fuelled by cohort size increases, to meet the demand for new allied health professionals means having to innovate placement structures to cater more students, while not compromising their learning experience. It also means ensuring a steady CE pipeline who are adequately supported as they journey as an educator. You will hear from a group of speakers from PT/OT/STs - who are the various section CE leads - share their experiences in implementing various teaching initiatives to structure the learning for both CEs and students alike.

Learning Outcome(s):

  • Understand how to structure a mentoring program to guide and support new educators
  • Understand how to facilitate peer learning activities and promote collaborative learning throughout a placement
  • Discuss the mechanisms in maintaining CE wellbeing and support within a team of educators
Target Audience:
