Title: Astroglial Cuts Through the Alzheimer’s Manifold

Abstract:
The multifactorial etiology of Alzheimer's disorder presents formidable challenges in both diagnosis and treatment. These challenges can be effectively conceptualized through a mathematical framework akin to a manifold, representing the intricate landscape of the pathology. Within this framework, the dimensions and contours of this manifold must be carefully elucidated to establish reliable approaches to Alzheimer's theranostics. In this context, our focus is on navigating the Alzheimer's manifold with a specific emphasis on the astroglial component of the disease. Emerging evidence highlights the potential of astroglia molecular biology and genetic signatures as promising avenues for the discovery of novel biomarkers, particularly during the prodromal phase of the disorder. However, the intricate interplay between astroglia markers and the risk of developing dementia phenotypes remains a subject of ongoing investigation, warranting further exploration.
