A/Prof Perera is a Senior Consultant in Glaucoma at SNEC and the Director of Complex anterior segment surgery service. Within SERI he is the Head of Cataract research and the Ophthalology Programme Director. He is also the Deputy Director of SingHealth MedTech Office, and a Lead Mentor for clinician-innovators at CCS+D. Supported by competitive research grants totalling over S$4.0M as PI, his core work has yielded 9 patents and 1 commercialization via licensing. A/Prof Perera has been an invited lecturer for over 140 lectures, written 5 book chapters and 168 peer reviewed publications.
