Abstract:
The cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) contains a tightly regulated immune system. Yet, little is known about how CSF immunity changes with age or in neurodegenerative disease. Recent work by the Gate lab has uncovered alterations to CSF immunity associated with brain aging, Alzheimer's disease and Lewy body dementia. This seminar will cover three publications from Dr. Gate's recent work in this area (Gate et al, Nature, 2020; Gate et al, Science 2021, Piehl et al, Cell, 2022).
