Title: Precision medicine: Tackling the mysteries of genetic diseases

Abstract:
Genetic diseases are individually rare yet collectively common. My laboratory focuses on identifying novel disease-causing genes. We then introduce patient-specific variants via genomic editing and functionally characterize these variants in embryonic stem cells and animal models. We aim to illuminate the pathogenic mechanisms of these novel syndromes, provide a personalized drug selection platform, and generate verified preclinical model systems to facilitate therapy development.
