Overview
NRF is conducting a study titled "RNA Biology & its Applications", with a team of researchers led by Prof Ashok Venkitaraman (Director, Cancer Science Institute of Singapore, NUS).
The study will cover the broad areas listed below and culminate in a report which will be shared with NRF’s Scientific Advisory Board, RIE Domains and Horizontals, R&D funding agencies, and the wider research community in Singapore to guide investments in the foundational research capabilities of Singapore.
Discussion topics for RNA Biology & its Applications Expression & modification of eukaryal RNA species RNA structure & chemistry: Implications for engineering and manufacture RNA as a drug and as a drug target RNA-effector complexes & RNA vaccines
As part of this study, a workshop will be held on Tue, 26 Apr 2022, 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm for the team to share their initial ideas with the wider scientific community, in order to solicit feedback and suggestions for recommended activities to expand foundational research capabilities. The workshop will be open to all members of the scientific community, funding agencies, and other stakeholders.
