What side effects can Ursodeoxycholic acid cause?

Common side effects that may occur are:

  • Soft or loose stools. Drink enough liquids to replace your fluid and salt balance.
  • Headache or/ and dizziness

Inform your doctor if the side effects are persistent or bothersome.

Rare but serious side effects may manifest as the following symptoms. Contact your doctor as soon as possible, if you notice any of the following:

  • Severe right-sided upper abdominal pain during the treatment of primary biliary cirrhosis
  • Skin rash

Inform your doctor if you notice any other unusual symptoms.

Always discuss with your doctor or pharmacist if you have any problems or difficulties during or after taking Ursodeoxycholic Acid.
