Dr Joshua Lim is an Associate Consultant with the Cataract & Comprehensive Ophthalmology Department at the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC). He undertook fellowship training under the Advanced Clinical Specialist Programme for Ocular Inflammation and Immunology, Medical Retina and Surgical Retina Departments. His current practice includes the management of cataracts, retinal conditions such as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and ocular inflammatory disorders such as anterior and posterior uveitis.
Dr Lim obtained his medical degree from the Manchester Medical School, University of Manchester (United Kingdom) in 2016, with first class honours. He was inducted as a fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (FRCOphth) and was conferred the Masters of Medicine in Ophthalmology by the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2022. During his training, he was recognised with the Outstanding Resident Award. He served as the Chief Resident of the SingHealth Ophthalmology Residency Programme. In 2024, Dr Lim completed his specialist training in Ophthalmology at SNEC in 2024.
Dr Lim firmly believes in mentorship and giving back to the next generation, and is actively involved as a clinical educator across a wide spectrum of Ophthalmic Health Education Programmes. He is a faculty member within the Advanced Nurse Practitioner Certification Programme. Dr Lim plays an active role in medical student teaching and is also a surgical trainer for residents’ small incision cataract surgery training. He received the Inspiring Resident Educator Award in 2024, and was appointed as a SingHealth Associate in Education in 2023.
