Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)

The Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) awards attention to the care and use of animals for research purposes, and is responsible for ensuring that all animal experiments comply with the National Advisory Committee for Laboratory Animal Research (NACLAR) guidelines. Before scientists can embark on an animal research project, they must first obtain IACUC's approval.

iSHaRe (Integrated System in Healthcare for Research) account @ http://ishare.singhealth.com.sg/ is a SingHealth Cluster ethics platform for investigators, administrators and institutions to track, monitor and manage their research portfolios efficiently.

All IACUC applications, reports and amendment requests must be submitted online via iSHaRe.

To reduce potential delay in one's application, it is advised that the completed new application be submitted through iSHaRe for a Vet Checklist by the 1st day of the month. The final submission to IACUC (including Vet's Checklist) must be submitted by the 7th day of the month (except December), otherwise it will be reviewed in the next cycle of review.

For approved applications with significant amendments, the request has to be submitted by the 14th day of the month, otherwise it will be reviewed in the next cycle of review.

For reporting of any concerns regarding inappropriate treatment and use of research animals, please email iacuc@singhealth.com.sg or call 6576 7015.
