Prof Fernando Bello

Professor, Technology Enhanced Learning and Innovation, Duke-NUS Medical School

Fernando is Professor of Technology Enhanced Learning and Innovation at Duke-NUS Medical School and Professor of Surgical Computing and Simulation Science at Imperial College London.

 He obtained his PhD degree in Biomedical Systems from Imperial College London and his BSc (Hons) in Electronic systems engineering from Monterrey Institute of Technology. His work is at the intersection of medicine, education, and technology, with research interests in modelling and simulation, medical virtual environments, haptic interaction and Artificial Intelligence in the context of education and training. He has pioneered advanced patient specific simulation of several surgical procedures and clinical examinations, online and mobile simulation tools, as well as innovative approaches to contextualised simulation and engagement.
