Asst Prof Foo Lean Heong

Dr Foo is a Consultant Periodontist in National Dental Centre Singapore and Director of Anxillary and Allied Health Education, Oral Health Academic Clinical Programme. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery with Distinction in 2007, where she was awarded the Royal Education Awards, Victory and Excellence Medal by Malaysian Council of Rulers, and Tunku Abdul Rahman Gold Medal as the Best Undergraduate student in university. 

She subsequently obtained her Master of Dental Surgery (Periodontology) from National University of Singapore (NUS) under the NUS ASEAN Graduate scholarship and Membership in Periodontics from Royal College of Surgeon Edinburgh in 2013.  She is a Fellow in Academy of Medicine Singapore and Faculty of Dental Surgery, Royal College of Surgeon Edinburgh. 

Dr Foo has been actively involved in teaching residents, dental officers, oral health therapists, dental surgery assistants, medical students, and nurses. Her education qualifications include Association of Medical Education in Europe Essential Skills in Medical Education in Clinical Teaching (ESME-CT 2019), Academic Medicine Education Institute (AMEI) Fellowship in Team-based Learning (2018) and Trainer-Consultant certification from Team-based Learning Collaboratives (2022).  She has conducted more than 20 team-based learning education workshops, and have some experience in conducting online team-based learning workshops and teaching activities.
