Humanities Division Director, Yale-NUS College

I was educated in Pune India and at Oxford (UK) from where I secured a D.Phil. I have served as the Director of the Humanities Division at Yale-NUS College since 2012, having worked for more than two decades prior to that in the English Department at the National University of Singapore. I have published 5 sole-authored and 1 co-authored books on literary studies, edited eight other works on literary studies, and two audio Compacts Discs of local poets reading from their work, and contributed widely in the form of journal articles and book chapters on poetry from Singapore, Ireland, and India, and postcolonial poetry from the entire Anglophone world. I have also published on music, and on the relation between the verbal and the visual arts.
