The SingHealth Paediatrics Residency Programme has grown from strength to strength. Starting in 2010 with an inaugural batch of 13 Residents, the programme currently has a total of 85 Residents: 28 Junior Residents and 57 Senior Residents.

The residents include individuals from a broad spectrum of backgrounds, including graduates from local medical schools YLLSoM and Duke-NUS, as well as International Medical Graduates (IMGs) from the United Kingdom (UK), Ireland, Australia and Malaysia. The first two pioneer cohorts of Senior Residents completed their advanced training in June 2016 and October 2016 respectively.

The Faculty strength numbers have also increased in tandem. In addition to the Programme Director (PD), the SingHealth Paediatrics residency programme also has four Associate Programme Directors (APDs), 14 Core Faculty members and more than 100 Physician Faculty members from various divisions and departments in KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital and Singapore General Hospital, within which the trainees rotate. The administrative team now has five Programme Executives and one Associate Executive.
