Clinical Trials Coordinating Centre (CTCC) organises several training courses to equip research professionals with the essential skills and knowledge for the conduct of clinical trials / research.

The last GCP course organized by CTCC has ended its run on 4 Oct 2023. Moving forward in future, the GCP course will be undertaken by the Office for Research Integrity and Compliance (RICE).

14 Oct 2023 Clinical Trials Seminar

The Clinical Trials Seminar was held on 14 Oct 2023 in Academia at the SingHealth Outram Campus. It is organized by the Clinical Trials Coordinating Centre (CTCC). The intent of the seminar is to create awareness on the diversity of clinical trials, and the National and SingHealth support for clinicians in clinical trials. 




The 5-hour event was attended by 60 participants. The seminar speaker lineup included:

  • Prof Lim Soon Thye, SingHealth Deputy Group CEO (Research & Education) who talked about the support from SingHealth Group Research, A/Prof Chow Wan Cheng, Group Director SingHealth Academic Medicine, and leading clinical trialists from SGH, NHCS, NCCS, SNEC/SERI.

  • Patient advocate individuals, as well as those from the SingHealth Patient Advocate Network were also there to lend their support and engaged clinicians on better communications and coordination for trial participants.

Mr Adrian Yap, patient advocate for clinical trials, regaling the audience with his candid sharing on his 
experience as a trial participant in investigator-initiated trials (IITs) and industry sponsored trials.



Dr Eugene Gan from Singapore Clinical Research Institute (SCRI) which is the
National Coordinating Body for clinical trials shared about the ongoing national
support and initiatives on clinical trials. 


The audience also enjoyed the panel discussion on various topics on how to attract more clinicians, to improve clinical trials, and patient perspectives on clinical trials.

1. Log-on to the SingHealth eLearning portal (https://elearning.singhealthacademy.edu.sg).

2. On your eLearning portal dashboard, click on “Catalogue” on the left panel.

3. Enter “Clinical Trials Seminar” into the search bar. Click on the course “CLINICAL TRIALS SEMINAR 2023 - DIVERSITY IN CLINICAL TRIALS: CLINICAL TRIALS FOR EVERYONE


 
4. Click on “Register”. The course should now appear on your “My Tasks” page.
