Mr Nick Brauer

Nick Brauer is a distinguished healthcare simulation professional with over 20 years of experience in healthcare and education, including over 15 years dedicated to healthcare simulation operations. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Memphis and has been a key contributor at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) since 2000. His tenure has included pivotal roles supporting simulation-based learning within UTHSC’s Interprofessional Education in Clinical Simulation (IPECS) and the Center for Healthcare Improvement and Patient Simulation - CHIPS.
As Senior Operations Specialist at UTHSC, Mr Brauer is responsible for managing a dynamic simulation program that enhances training across multiple healthcare disciplines. His areas of expertise include advanced manikin operations, moulage application, audiovisual technology, and simulation center design and management. His contributions have significantly enriched the simulation-based educational landscape at UTHSC.
In addition to his institutional work, Mr Brauer is deeply engaged in the global healthcare simulation community. He most recently served on the board of directors for SimGHOSTS, where he has held key leadership roles, including vice president, online content director and mentor program co-chair. In 2023, he was appointed faculty for the operations section of The Academy Archive. His dedication to advancing healthcare simulation and mentoring future leaders underscores his professional impact worldwide.
