Associate Professor Liu Yu-Chi is a corneal specialist and a clinician scientist at Corneal and External Eye Diseases Department, Singapore National Eye Centre. She is also the Deputy Head of Tissue Engineering and Cell Therapy Group at Singapore Eye Research Institute. Her clinical and research work is internationally recognized and has received 17 international or national awards, including the Achievement Award of Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology, 1st Prize Presentation Award, European Society of Cataract & Refractive surgeons Congress, Best Paper Awards, Asia-Pacific Association of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and Clinician Scientist Award of National Medical Research Council.

Assoc Prof Liu’s research work leads to 116 peer-reviewed publications, including two in prestigious journals: LANCET and LANCET RESPIRATORY MEDICINE. She is the Principal Investigator of 13 competitive grants, with the total funding amount of 3.8 million SGD. Her research focuses on corneal and external eye diseases, particularly in corneal neuropathy and corneal imaging. She is named as one of the top 2% scientists worldwide in 2022.
