About

Michael Dunn is an Associate Professor and the Director of Education in the Centre for Biomedical Ethics, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. Michael leads CBmE’s undergraduate education programme in health ethics, law and professionalism, which is now taught to 3,000 medical, dental, nursing and pharmacy students across 5 years. Together with A/Prof Nicola Ngiam, he co-leads the new Health Humanities Hub (HHH). The HHH is active in developing and supporting new educational initiatives, skills, projects and resources for health professional students and educators that can enrich the quality and humanistic orientation of health education locally. Michael trained originally in the UK, moving to Singapore in 2021. He undertakes bioethics research that draws on philosophical, legal and qualitative research methods to understand and address the ethical challenges that arise in health and social care practice, with a particular interest in long-term and community-based health and care settings.
