Dr Shirlyn Neo is a Senior Consultant in the Division of Supportive and Palliative Care at the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS), where her work centres on caring for patients and their caregivers, through some of life's most difficult moments. Alongside her clinical practice, Dr Neo is committed to education — shaping how future doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals understand and approach end-of-life care. Her research seeks to reimagine how supportive and palliative care is delivered, supported by competitive funding from the National Medical Research Council and other local grants.

Her work reflects a deep conviction that good palliative care demands both scientific rigour and human sensitivity. She is deeply interested in the human dimensions of medicine — in how care, compassion, and science come together at the bedside.
