Programme Description: 

This keynote lecture presents the contemporary approaches of bioethics. Apart from the traditional normative examination of ethical theories, various perspectives have been employed to enrich the understanding of bioethics from a bottom-up approach - to enhance the application of ethical theories and principles in real life situation, especially in clinical setting. This lecture will cover the exploration of bioethics through empirical bioethics and socio-legal studies. Ultimately, rather than a theory, bioethics is a dialogue through interdisciplinary exchange of ideas.
