Programme Synopsis: 

Mama Melodies is an evidence-based group singing programme for mothers with or at risk for post-natal depression, informed by the Breathe Melodies for Mums programme run by Breathe Arts Health Research, UK. It was brought to Denmark, Italy and Romania by the World Health Organisation.

Mama Melodies is the first programme informed by Melodies for Mums, to be conducted outside Europe. It is facilitated by Singapore music artists, drawing on songs that resonate with our local communities, and with sensitivity to our unique culture and context.

A 10-weeks programme, Mama Melodies is designed to help mothers improve mood and wellbeing. Participants can connect with other mums, gain confidence, and bond with their baby in a safe and relaxed environment. No singing experience required.

Presentation Structure:

1. Opening introduction to Mama Melodies (15min)

Introduction to the evidenced-based methodology behind Mama Melodies and the efforts made to localise the programme to the Singapore/Asian cultural context.

Mama Melodies Target Audience: mothers with or at risk for post-natal depression, with babies 0-9months. (Attending with your baby is optional/No singing experience required.)
