Daniel works as a Senior Clinical Psychologist in the Department of Developmental Psychiatry in the Institute of Mental Health. Based in the Forensic Rehabilitation, Intervention, Evaluation & Network Development Services team, he provides assessment and intervention for youth offenders, youth-at-risk of committing offences, victims/survivors of child abuse and other significant traumatic events. He also holds the role as the project deputy lead of the Trauma Informed Care and Response Team that spearheads key projects relating to organisational change surrounding trauma informed care. As part of his continuing education, he will start his PhD studies in the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health in the National University of Singapore, with a key focus on programme development centering reflexive and trauma-informed care practices for professional and lay helpers in reducing burnout.This aligns with his additional involvement surrounding clinical, research and consulting work in marginalised and vulnerable populations, where he volunteers in various community-based organisations relating to queer populations, substance use, HIV and sexual health related fields. Among which, he volunteers as the clinical and learning coordinator at The Greenhouse Community Services Ltd, where he coordinates and facilitates learning programmes for the counsellors and peer support volunteers.
