Jolene is a third-year student at NUS Medicine with a growing interest in community health and the medical humanities. She is particularly keen on exploring what constitutes holistic care, how we can address health needs upstream, and the social contexts that shape how people experience illness and healthcare.
Jolene is currently serving as Co-Lead Coordinator of the Medical Humanities Collective, a student-doctor interest group spanning the medical schools and healthcare clusters across Singapore. Within the medical humanities, she is particularly drawn to stories and narratives of illness and care, and to understanding how social and structural factors shape people’s experiences of health and healthcare.
