6 years after losing my mother to brain cancer, I had to undergo neurosurgery to remove a 3.5 cm brain tumour. These painful experiences led me to establish Brain Tumour Society (Singapore) in 2014 to provide peer support and practical assistance to those fighting and living with brain tumours. I am deeply honoured to receive the President's Volunteerism & Philanthropy Award (People of Good - Winner of Open Category) on 1 Oct 2025 for my work in BTSS. I have also been conferred the Singapore Health Inspirational Patient Award in 2015 while BTSS won the Singapore Health Inspirational Patient Group Award in 2020 in recognition of our service and contribution to the brain tumour community. We achieved our Institution of Public Character status on 8 June 2022.
