Ms Shyamala Narayanaswamy

About

Shyamala Nara is Senior Principal Pharmacist at SGH.  Her passions are fostering joy and removing barriers, and pursuit of the perfect cappuccino. Shyam is a member of SingHealth’s Staff Protection Council, and is the strategy lead for Staff Engagement and Wellness at the Pharmacy Division (SGH) via curated engagement activities and peer support. She coordinates anti-abuse efforts in her Division to both protect her colleagues as well as equip them with the knowledge and skills to manage difficult situations that may come their way. She has developed and delivered verbal-de-escalation training catering to Pharmacy staff, both in-person and via Virtual Reality simulations, and developed assistive scripts to support her staff in responding to challenging encounters. She is also exploring how the arts & humanities can improve communication and self-awareness in healthcare, particularly in the Pharmacy setting.
