Sreymom Pol is Deputy Dean for Research at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Puthisastra, Phnom Penh, Cambodia. She holds an MSc in International Health and Tropical Medicine from the University of Oxford and brings over a decade of research experience spanning antimicrobial resistance, community health engagement, and research ethics in low-resource settings. Sreymom’s interest in bioethics is grounded in practice: her work has consistently contended with mixed method type of study, including ethical dimensions, low-trust communities. She is a current SEABION Fellow, leading a project on integrating bioethics into medical education in Cambodia. She was previously a Global Health Bioethics Network Fellow at the University of Oxford, where she explored community attitudes towards research ethics in Cambodia. She has contributed to over 20 peer-reviewed publications and has worked with institutions including Oxford, the Wellcome Trust, UNESCO, and GIZ. She passion is being active voice on the role of ethics committees as enablers — not barriers — to good research.
