Professor Richard Huxtable is Professor of Medical Ethics and Law and Director of the Centre for Ethics in Medicine, University of Bristol (UK). An internationally recognised scholar, his work focuses on end‑of‑life ethics, professional responsibility, and the interface between law, ethics, and clinical practice. He has held senior leadership roles with the UK Clinical Ethics Network, European Association of Centres of Medical Ethics, and the Institute of Medical Ethics, and has served on national ethics and research governance committees. Professor Huxtable is a leading authority on assisted dying, having advised regulators and governments, given evidence to legislative committees across the UK and Europe, and led independent ethics reviews of proposed legislation.
