This workshop will present public health posters as a novel and interactive visual device for teaching students from health-related disciplines. Participants will learn about Hong Kong’s rich history of public health messaging, the evolution of the territory’s health challenges and health literacy, as well as the power of posters as a visual tool to facilitate critical analysis, group discussion and student feedback.

  1. Critically analyze historical public health posters from Hong Kong, identifying key visual and textual elements that communicate health messages effectively and discuss their cultural and historical significance
  2. Evaluate the educational impact of visual tools in medical education
  3. Acquire strategies to integrate visual media, such as public health posters, into medical and health-related education to enhance student engagement, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary learning

Achievement of objectives will be measured via informal qualitative discussion at the end of the workshop.
