The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, had organized a community outreach event targeting the elderly, at the Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital on 24 Mar 2018. The event was graced by Dr. Amy Khor; Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Environment and Water Resources & Ministry of Health. The objective of the event was to involve the department in reaching out and giving back to the elderly community as well as to raise the level of health literacy particularly in understanding osteoporosis; such as the diagnosis, risk factors, treatment and prevention. Additionally, there were free health screenings and consultations provided by the doctors onsite to the participants of the community outreach programme.
