Survival Radiology Course - 12 December 2015
Following the successful inaugural run in 2014, the 2nd Survival Radiology Course was held on 12th December 2015 at the National Cancer Centre Singapore Auditorium. Aimed at final-year medical students and recent postgraduate doctors, the course showcased important and urgent conditions visible on imaging studies from head to toe. In addition to the segments on Neuroradiology, Thoracic Imaging, Abdominal Imaging, Spinal Imaging and Musculo-Skeletal Radiology, a new segment on Paediatric Imaging was included this year.
Poll Everywhere was also introduced as a platform for interactive audience polling of questions during the lectures and post-course quiz. This allowed participants and faculty to view real-time audience responses to questions, and enhance the teaching and learning effectiveness. The course received excellent feedback from the participants, and below are some of the comments from the medical students:

RADSC ACP Town Hall – 29 October 2015
The inaugural Radiological Sciences ACP Town Hall was held at the Academia Auditorium on the evening of 29 October 2015. It was a platform for the RADSC ACP community to engage with the senior management from SingHealth and Duke-NUS, and to pose questions on the ACP and Academic Medicine. Over a hundred attendees from the RADSC ACP community attended the event.
Prof Tan Bien Soo, Academic Chair RADSC ACP, started the event with a review of the events and milestones achieved by the ACP. Dr Lionel Cheng, Director Academic Affairs RADSC ACP, then presented the results of the RADSC ACP survey, which assessed the opinions of the RADSC ACP community on the ACP itself. This was followed by an engagement session with a panel of senior management from SingHealth and Duke-NUS, who addressed questions from the audience through the Pigeonhole system.

Chest Imaging Course – 10 October 2015

The inaugural Chest Imaging Course, organised by the Radiological Sciences ACP, was held on 10 October 2015. The course was aimed at radiologists and non-radiologists with interest in pulmonary imaging, honing their skills in the timely recognition of pulmonary pathology and facilitating appropriate treatment for patients under their care. In addition to the didactic lectures by subspecialty chest radiologists, the other highlight of the course was the interactive hands-on sessions where the participants viewed chest radiographs and scrolled through CT images on individual desktop computer terminals.
The course received overwhelmingly positive feedback from the participants, who commended the informative lectures and the high-quality illustrative cases.

Research Day - 12 September 2015
RADSC ACP Research Day 2015
The inaugural RADSC ACP Research Day was held on Saturday, 12 September 2015 at SGH Lecture Theatre. The Research Day was conceived to be a platform for RADSC community to present their research projects, and gather feedback and suggestions from the senior researchers regarding their research projects. Over 50 clinicians, residents, scientists, radiographers, and nurses attended the Research Day.
The two invited speakers for the event were Assoc Prof Chan Ling Ling (Senior Consultant, Dept of Diagnostic Radiology, SGH) and Dr Pauline Soh (Radiographer, Dept of Diagnostic Radiology, SGH), who shared on "Tips for Making a Good Presentation" and "Can Test Sets Predict Radiologists' Clinical Performance in Breast Cancer Screening" respectively. This was followed by eleven (11) presentations from the participants, including a Q & A section from the judges and audience.
The Best Presentation was awarded to:
(1) Dr Sidney Yu Wing Kwong (Senior Principal Research Scientist, Dept of Nuclear Medicine & PET, SGH) – "Development of Radiolabeled Nanoparticles for Brachytherapy of Ovarian Carcinomatosis"
(2) Ms Wendy Choo Lay Hong (Senior Staff Nurse, Dept of Diagnostic & Interventional Imaging, KKH) – "Selection of Children Aged 5 to 8 Undergoing MRI without GA or Sedation Checklist"

Academic Collaborations in Radiology & Pathology: Impact on Patient Care
SingHealth, Duke-NUS and ACP Leaders at the Academic Hour
Radiological Sciences ACP and Pathology ACP held their inaugural Academic Hour on 3 September 2015. Over 200 clinicians, scientists, residents, nurses, allied health professionals and administrators took time off from their busy schedules to attend this event.
Speakers from both ACPs shared past and present collaborations in research and education with the audience. The Radiologist's and the Pathologist's roles in the IMPACT trials, a series of ongoing multidisciplinary clinical trials where faculty from both ACPs collaborate closely with Oncology ACP, were discussed.
On the education front, the importance of pathology to the Radiologist and the significance of imaging for the Pathologist were shared, as well as how the benefits of learning together across specialties had led to the conception of the inaugural RADPATH Correlation Course in July 2015.
The presentations were followed by a Q&A session, with panelists fielding questions posted on the Pigeonhole Q&A system. It was an enlightening event that provided attendees the opportunity to learn more about both ACPs and their collaborative initiatives.

Academic Grand Round - 27 July 2015
Since the launch of the Academic Grand Rounds in April 2014, this is the ACP's first Resident-led AGR! The event on 27 July was well attended by our Radiologists, Residents, Radiographers and Physicists. Besides welcoming the new batch of SingHealth Diagnostic Radiology Residents (R1s), Senior Residents (R4), and Nuclear Medicine Senior Residents (R4) to the RADSC ACP community, our Senior Residents - Dr Mohammad Taufik, Dr Chia Ghim Song and Dr Keefe Lai, also shared their experiences and challenges on "The Resident as Teacher".
The Pitch for Funds Recipients, Dr Thijs August Johan Urlings (Consultant, Dept of Diagnostic Radiology, SGH) and Dr Kelvin Loke Siu Hoong (Consultant, Dept of Nuclear Medicine & PET, SGH), were also presented with the award letters for the SingHealth Duke-NUS RADSC ACP FY2015 Research Support Programme Grant.
Starting from this AGR, a new segment titled Research Methodology, which comprises of a series of sharing sessions on practical tips for research, was also launched to help residents and junior faculty to embark on their research journey. For the first module, Assoc Prof Thng Choon Hua spoke on the topic "Literature Review", where he shared about the usefulness of PubMed, Bookmarklets, and Reference Manager.
