Tan Kim Ping Academic Fund

InterventionalRadiology2.jpg

In 1997, our patient Ms Tan Soi Noi had a brain artery aneurysm that bled, and underwent a cutting-edge Radiology-guided minimally-invasive coil embolisation, thus saving her from an open brain surgery.
In 2014, her brain aneurysm recurred and the pressure on her nerves caused blurred vision. Our radiologist treated her and preserved her vision.

When a person is injured or suffers from a medical condition, the number one priority is to provide immediate and proper medical treatment, so that they can recover and return to work or their daily routine as quickly as possible.

Radiology and the Radiological Sciences cover a patient’s full life span and support all medical specialties to determine the correct diagnoses and monitor patients’ responses to treatment.

The Radiological Sciences Academic Clinical Programme (RADSC ACP) in the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre brings together the fields of Diagnostic Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and Interventional Radiology to advance the way we see, understand and treat the human body.

Dr Tan Kim Ping

The RADSC ACP established the Tan Kim Ping Academic Fund in 2018 to honour Dr Tan Kim Ping’s vision, dedication and leadership in shaping the Radiological Sciences in Singapore.

During Dr Tan’s illustrious medical career, which included headship at the Department of Diagnostic Radiology in SGH from 1991 to 2002, he mentored numerous radiologists, and many of them currently hold leadership positions in the various healthcare institutions. He also laid the foundation of a strong academic Radiology service by encouraging and facilitating research and education among Radiologists.

The Fund aims to provide world-class patient care, train the best and brightest radiologists to serve future generations, and to discover new imaging technologies and procedures to improve patient outcomes.

We would be most grateful if you could support our cause by making a donation towards the Tan Kim Ping Academic Fund under the SingHealth Duke-NUS RADSC ACP, to support the research and education initiatives by the Radiological Sciences faculty.
